Me!!
I didn't ice my cake due to one small teeny tiny omission on my part - I didn't buy the five eggs (yes FIVE, count them) it takes to make marzipan and royal icing.
So sue me, I did the ironing instead.
I shall do the cake tomorrow night instead, when I fully anticipate it will look something like this:-
(actually, if it looks like this I'll be amazed, as it will have grown another three tiers over night)

well, now you'll have to post a picture for comparative purposes. or maybe just for bragging rights. or to celebrate the culmination of 6 weeks of effort. either way, I can't wait to see the results.
royal icing - will this involve big hats in any way?
I iced mine today. I'm bloody knackered. Even after cheating and using ready-to-roll marzipan.
I marzipanned mine but didn't ice it because I ran out of lemon juice.
Just for the record, home made marzipan is easy peasy but costs a fortune because you have to put a pound of ground almonds in it.
