Le Christmas Cake C'est Finis

Mosh had the last bit, although I did send a slice to Adrian yesterday which he was planning to have for his afternoon tea today. No idea if he ate it or not.

Anyway, for a cake that finally entered service on Christmas Day, lasting until 5th Jan isn't a bad innings.

I've taken a photo of the remains, and when I've got round to hunting down our photo transfer USB thingy* I'll put the photos up on here.

*technical term. It does have a name but thingy is a catch-all term for all computer gadgets that Doug purchases. My grasp as to what they do is tenuous at best, so thingy imparts the correct amount of ignorance and stops people from thinking that I know what I'm talking about.

Oui, le tranche de gateau est arrivé a mon place de travail.

However, I didn't eat it today as Antonia is hopefully sending me some of hers too. We shall therefore have the official Cake-Off next week and I will of course let you know how it (marzi)pans out...

another way to look at it is that, being a marzipan cake, it is amazing for it to be almost gone only 10 days later.

*blech*

If I lose the cake-off, it will be the last food I ever provide for you, Adrian.....

Bob, marzipan rules, you're just not gay enough to know it :-)

I'm going to lay a bet on "both of you having done well" or "it's hard to really say that one of them is better than the other simply because they are so different - they are both equally successful at what they were attempting".

Or something.

I'm sure he will. Not even Adrian is daft enough to piss me and/or Antonia off. If I win, Antonia might well exact revenge by producing some marvellously rude photoshopped art showing him inflagrante with a hamster. If Antonia wins, I'll probably just stab him, its less effort :-)

Yes, Adrian: it is boxed on my desk and ready to go. I'll try and make it to the post office tomorrow.

If both cakes taste equally delicious, the deciding tie-breaker surely lies in the fact that Rowan made her own marzipan. I take off my hat to such industry.

Mosh is a thoroughly deserving recipient of the last bit. You must give him my very best next time you fall over him.
