All in all...
..... a very nice weekend.
We had Adrian, Solveig (or Soooovey, as Jacob pronounced it) and Baby Freyja staying with us on Friday and Saturday which was a good excuse to eat all sorts of naughty food that we wouldn't normally eat. Suet pudding and eggs benedict, that sort of thing. Oh, and to drink much more than normal.
On top of that, we were invited round to lunch at Andy and Claire's on Sunday for a roast chicken dinner followed by fruit crumble.
A certain amount of detoxing is required this week. Although how we're going to do that with it being Shrove Tuesday tomorrow. Low fat pancake recipe anyone?

instead, find a bunch of plastic beads and fake coins, toss them randomly at passers-by and drink until you feel moved to remove your shirt.
I managed to make a small enough quantity of batter that Jacob and Sam had a pancake and I had the very thin one with the remains of the batter.
However, that was four hours ago now so I'm doing a quick beef stir fry. I feel that there is probably too much chilli in there which will mean I drink too much wine to quell the heat. Which will probably mean I start doing the thing with the beads and plastic coins.....
put on a dixieland jazz record and let the beads (and top) fly! Woot - happy Mardi Gras.
