He repeated the trick yesterday with a chocolate cake. If I had more counter space, this just wouldn't happen!

Have you considered storing it on top of the fridge?
unfortunately, our kitchen fridge is a little under-the-counter thing, so it'd be no better.
I'm just a bit stuck for space in my kitchen, unfortunately :-(
The cake was v nice though, especially when I stuck a bit of lemon drizzle icing on the top...
scrummy... or at least I'm sure it was BEFORE the kiddy teethmarks..
New kitchens are great. ;-) Even if I am STILL paying for mine.
The only other alternative would be to leave a decoy cake near the edge and paint one side of it with that stuff that stops you biting your nails. That'd teach him.
(Good thing I don't have kids yet, I can imagine the fingers poised to call social services)
