Help! I married a freak!!
That, in a nutshell, is the subtext of Doug's post on Metafilter; although he claims that he was merely interested in finding out if anyone else out there has this particular behavioural quirk, what he was really trying to do was to ascertain whether I'm a freak or not.

Well from the sheer volume of comments, it would appear you are not alone. Freaks of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your carrots, potatoes, leeks and beef, in that order.
