Wet Bank Holidays

Its astonishing, considering the vagaries of the British weather, that there aren't more "indoors if wet" activities for kids. In this neck of the woods, the options seem to be play areas and more play areas.

I'm moaning about this not only because we are facing the prospect of another wet bank holiday weekend but also because I turned down a party invitation for Jacob on the grounds that it would disrupt our plans and stop us from going out for the day. Now the weekend is almost upon us and the weather forecast is more certain and I'm beginning to regret it - at least one child would have been passably entertained for the afternoon.

So, reasonably irritated with myself for turning down the invite, I'm scouring the internet for something for us to do tomorrow - we will not spend the day at home, we WILL GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING! Unfortunately, its pretty slim pickings - the Deep at Hull (again) or a Play Barn in Bolton Abbey are the only indoors things I've found. I shall keep looking. And should Doug moan about going out in wet weather, I shall remind him that it was his idea to turn down the invite in the first place!

Hmm, we were going to have a garden day tomorrow, as the grass is taller than Theo. Rethink....
